PotD: Cactus Island

Salar de Uyuni

Cactus Island, or Isla Incahuasi, is a rocky outcrop in the middle of the Salar de Uyuni covered in giant cacti. It’s a popular early morning spot for all those doing the tour and gives a great high vantage point of the surrounding salt flats. A truly breathtaking finale to a wonderful four days. Having been in the middle of nowhere for so long, seeing this radio mast in amongst the empty space felt a little strange to me. Now I just like the graphic elements of the landscape, with the warm and cool tones.
