I appreciate a beautiful landscape, or a good portrait, but capturing an ordinary day in a moment is special too. There’s something that comes from concentrating a little slice of life into a single frame. I love the balance of all the elements, the colours from the domestic items, the curve of the tap, the blue light on the curtain against the warm wall behind… I wonder if some people see this as just a boring snap. To me, it holds so much information.

This was actually taken at the AirBnB apartment I was staying in at Puerto Varas in Chile. I’d been down and out with fever for two days and this was the third day, when I was finally able to move around a little. Being holed up in a confined space can make you look at the world in a different way, reminding you to appreciate the everyday.
