Hanging out at Portobello Market

Continuing on with my Portobello market theme from last summer… I just had to go back to ask these two gentlemen if I could take their portrait and they couldn’t have been friendlier. Ended up chatting about the street photographer Norman McCaskill, who had taken many photos in and around Portobello market in the 1950’s. One of their friends, who was just out of shot and still working the market, had actually been photographed by him as a little nipper back in the day. Goes to show that even though the area has changed a lot on the surface, there’s still plenty that stays the same and is part of what makes it so special.
It’s Friday, a big market day, and I need to find myself some wine glasses now that I’ve moved back. Heading on out to see what I can find. Wish me luck! And I expect I’ll bump into these two somewhere along the line. Hope they like the photo.
