Finland100: 68 – Order and Disorder

A countdown of 100 images for the 100 days leading up to the 100th Year of Finland's independence

Here’s another shot of the Parliament building whilst it is closed for renovations. With the exterior covered up, the lights shining through the material at night make such a graphically strong backdrop that I just had to stop again. The organic chaos of the trees silhouetted against the straight lines of the manmade structure could lead me to come up with a metaphor of society’s attempts to instil a sense of order in a world that will not be constrained within such narrow boundaries, where rules and regulations are used stifle the creative urge to grow in all directions… I’m just not sure I believe it. As a wiser man than I said: “Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others.” (Winston Churchill). And I’d rather have governance than anarchy. Not sure quite how I got here, enjoy the photo. Admire all that detail, because the resolving power of the Sony A7R2 with the native 90mm macro is seriously good.
