Finland 100: 51 – Side on at Kiasma

A countdown of 100 images for the 100 days leading up to the 100th Year of Finland's independence

Here we have a side-on perspective of Kiasma, the Museum of Contemporary Art, on the quiet side of the building away from the busy thoroughfare of Mannerheimintie. With its curves and lines running the gamut of greys, it makes a striking architectural statement but it can’t only be me trying hard not to be reminded of the carapace of a woodlouse when seeing the backend tail away. Not that this is a bad thing, I’ve always found the little creatures fascinating.  Good to see that a little bit of snow did not stop this cyclist making it in, though I’m sure he’d appreciate his own carapace in times of need.
