A countdown of 100 images for the 100 days leading up to the 100th Year of Finland's independence
The old dock area around Kalasatama is developing its own unique vibe in the areas where the redevelopment has not yet reached. This Fox in Docks looks majestic against the uniform brickwork of the large power station of Helsinki Energy (love their name ‘HELEN’) in the background. At least I think that’s what the animal is but it seems there’s a green alien beneath the skin waiting to come out, I’m not entirely sure. Talking about foxes, I’m not sure how common they are in Helsinki’s inner city, but I’ve seen them regularly enough over the years in the area behind the Olympic stadium and, just the other night, by Taivallahti. They seemed pretty cool, calm and collected going about their business in their environment.
