PotD: Suomenlinna on a Winter’s Morning

One from earlier on this winter, on a morning stroll when the sea had only recently frozen over and steam seemed to be rising from the water as it gradually transformed from a liquid to a solid state. Suomenlinna, a fortress island with a thriving creative community, was made a UNESCO world heritage site in 1991. In silhouette and rising out of the fiery vapours, it makes me think of fables and legends from times long passed. Well worth a visit when visiting Helsinki, a short local ferry ride away.
