A countdown of 100 images for the 100 days leading up to the 100th Year of Finland's independence
The first thing that came to mind when I came across this bear in the woods is the phrase “Does a bear s**t in the woods”, a long way of giving a definitive ‘yes’ to a question. I’m not sure what this image of a lost bear would represent but it doesn’t seem too upset by its new surroundings. Reflectors are something that my better half has always been very pro-active in getting the family to wear on their coats in winter, placing a surprisingly large collection that she has gathered over the years onto the table and they remain there until we all have at least one. This is obviously a sensible precaution in a country where it’s dark by 3pm at this time of year. Now, if only I could understand why there are so many cyclists in Helsinki without lights on their bikes during winter. It just seems so un-Finnish. (Disclaimer – to all who do use lights, this is not directed at you!)
