A countdown of 100 images for the 100 days leading up to the 100th Year of Finland's independence

Just off the coast of the southern tip of Helsinki, the small island of Uunisaari is joined to the island of Liuskasaari by a man-made granite promenade. It has been here for many years, long enough for the metal rail to have rusted through completely in the sea air, with an occasional gap along the way to add even more excitement to walking on ice covered rock. Luckily, there was no wind trying to push me over the edge and I made it safely across.
