Finland 100: 82 – Hay Bales at Xmas

Take the city boy into the countryside and look what happens, he starts taking photos of xmas trees and hay bales right outside his mother-in-law’s front door. She has learnt to tolerate his strange behaviour as he obviously loves her daughter. The sun hasn’t risen above the treeline yet and the cold muted tones, with the matching greens front and back, make this simple city boy a ‘happy chappy’. Listening to xmas songs as I write this, my daughter beside me covering her freshly baked gingerbread cookies with teeth-cracking amounts of icing sugar. Her joyous approach to the yuletide season has worn this grouch down. Not many days to go now, can’t wait!
