Finland 100: 76 – Glass and Light

A countdown of 100 images for the 100 days leading up to the 100th Year of Finland's independence

The coffee was okay, the cake was good, but easily the best bit was just looking out the window at the changing light. The yellow from the setting sun reflecting through the ice forming on the glass contrasted perfectly with the cold blue winter tones. And the baubles hanging in the window were the ‘icing on the cake’ (although my actual cake had loads of cream on it!). Being close to a popular tourist attraction, this cafe does not expect return customers, which shows in the prices and the service, but that’s okay by me because the kitsch decor more than made up for it, for a one time visit.
